Marlins Swim Team
Meets
Marlins Families,
Here is a meet schedule for the upcoming season. There may be
some changes before the start of the season. For those of you
who are new, the schedule can be broken down into four categories as
described below. More detail will be shared at the parent meeting.
USA Meets
You must be 9 years old and a USA registered swimmer to enter these
meets. These meets are against other swimmers from various YMCA’s
and USA Swimming Clubs. Swimmers will enter their events, with some
coach input. There are additional fees associated with these meets.
Swimmers will be required to hand in and pay entry fees at the front
desk. There are entry deadlines associated with these meets along
with registration forms. I recommend USA meets to second year - year
round swimmers.
Championship Meets
You must qualify for these meets. These meets are against other
swimmers from various YMCA’s. These meets have qualifying times.
Swimmers must have swum faster times than the qualifying time to
enter. There are additional fees associated with these meets. There
are entry deadlines associated with these meets along with
registration forms.
YMCA Invitational Meets
All Swimmers may participate. These meets are against other swimmers
from various YMCA’s. Swimmers will enter their events, with some
coach input. There are additional fees associated with these meets.
Swimmers will be required to hand in and pay entry fees at the front
desk. There are entry deadlines associated with these meets along
with registration forms.
League Meets
All swimmers may participate. These meets are against other YMCA’s
in our league. Coaches will enter the swimmers in events, with some
swimmer input. There are no additional fees associated with these
meets.
WCAY Marlins only post the results for their swimmers and we emphasize the swimmers' improvement in their times.
